Frequently asked questions
What does it cost?
Nothing. TennisCity is free, there is no premium tier and no advertising in the ladder.
What happens if I lose?
As the challenger: nothing. You stay in your place. Only whoever is challenged and loses swaps places with the winner.
Whom may I challenge?
Anyone who stands up to five places ahead of you and is free right now — so not paused, not in a running match. The app only shows you these players.
How is the time found?
You set once when you can usually play. We intersect your times with your opponent's and suggest the next shared slot. You can pick another time too.
What if nobody answers?
A challenge lasts seven days. If no answer comes, it counts as declined. You can withdraw it any time before that and ask someone else — with no waiting.
How do I enter the result?
After the match you tap once: "I won" or "[Name] won". Anyone who enters their own loss is believed right away. We don't need sets or scores.
What if the result is disputed?
If someone enters a win, it counts right away — but the opponent can object if it isn't right. The result is then annulled, the places go back, and you sort it out in the chat. There is no umpire — but disputed matches stay visible in your history.
Can I take a break?
Yes, with a return date. Your place stays, but you can't be challenged and can't challenge anyone.
There's nobody in my city
Then you're no. 1. Invite someone you play with anyway — as soon as there are two players, the ladder exists. Or widen your radius.
Do I need a club?
No. All you need is a court to play on. That you settle in the match chat.
